Warranty 20% off
Warranty 20% off
Hey all,
Just received a txt from WarrantyWise offering 20% off if booked before 5pm 24.12.2013
I was quoted approx £1,300, what do you guys think? I've never purchased an extended warranty so not sure if it's worth it or if there's better out there. I would like the peace of mind as I've just purchased my 2008 RS4 Cab.
What do you think guys?

Re: Warranty 20% off
personally, and general concensus is that the only warranty worth having is the offical audi one from mondial.
https://www.audiextendedwarranty.co.uk/
This can be had from between 1-2k depending on mileage and excess.
All other warranties, while cheaper, firstly expect you to pay up front (audi doesn't) and comes with enough loop holes to make OJ simpson happy.

Re: Warranty 20% off

Mondial all they way mate
Re: Warranty 20% off
Audi one should be cheaper so would be madness to go for that. I paid £1.6k on the C6 for 12 months with Assist and £0 excess, highest level of cover, too.

Re: Warranty 20% off
Thanks guys, decided to go for the mondial policy, seems a far better choice.
Re: Warranty 20% off
Ok, before I do go for it, anyone think a slush fund is a better choice?
I've been reading through the T&C's on the Mondial warranty and I keep seeing (excludes worn parts) which is fair but if that's the case is it not better to put money aside rather than splash out on a waaranty?...

Re: Warranty 20% off
How many miles a year are you planning to do?
If it's under 5000 I would go for back up fund. Otherwise I would go mondial.
I know some will think that's a bit of a daft way to look at it, but it works for me.

I also think it depends a lot on the condition of your car. If it's a low miler with everything done then go slush
If it's a high miler that may have been abused with unclear history, go warranty

Re: Warranty 20% off
So its a 2008 RS4 Cab with 58k miles. It's got a full Audi S/H with replacement front shocks but that's pretty much it.
Im only doing about 8k miles per year so Im thinking a slush fund may well be a better option.
Cheers guys,

I recently purchased my C5 RS6 and went with Warranty Direct. I previously had seven years working for both Audi UK and also a franchised dealer and felt WD were the best of a bad bunch, after all it's essentially an insurance and insurance companies have to make a profit!
My car is a 2004 model with 74k when I purchased the warranty in March, now at 77k - blooming thing likes to be driven
Technically the blurb says that they will only pay up to 50% of the parts if the vehicle is 10 years old but I negotiated hard and got them to agree franchised labour rates plus 100% of the parts, including when parts have failed due to wear and tear as opposed to only sudden failure. Watch out for this point on any warranty as this can make the difference between a good result and a painful repair bill!
I originally signed up for 12 months and then discovered they offered 2 and 3 year policies. I rang back, spoke to the same chap and after a bit of haggling agreed to take a three year policy with the same level of cover throughout and a yearly mileage limit of 24,000 miles. Even got them to throw in emissions and air bag cover too after we settled on a price which is less than a grand a year
I would NEVER own one of these beasts without a warranty. Warranty Direct have already replaced the front passenger door latch and did that within an hour of the car being dropped off at Star Performance, who I'd also recommend. Although the car was last serviced in September 2013 as it was new to me I had a full service, cambelt change, gearbox oil and filter change, brake fluid change and a couple of other bits and pieces done too.

What's the highest mileage they would entertain for 2003 Rs6
