Car has been working great and cannot fault her until now.......I am certain the power steering pump is failing as car drives fine in a straight line but if you try to turn left or right (difficult) it's very noisy and vibration through steering And its getting worse. I do know it's a common failure when all fluids have been drained :drink: ........she's now off the road till I take her Back to audi tomorrow :FIREdevil:

Hopefully just low on fluid possibly caused by something being left loose by garage?

Totally agree. Did look at several earlier in the year for my S4 but decided against. Now looking at a £2700 bill for a knackered lower chain tensioner. In fairness that cost is all the tensioners and guides plus fitting of 6 of 8 front arms and ahocks and top mounts. Still a lot more thatn the £700 odd quoted for a warranty though :(

Buy a litre of PAS fluid and top it off, it only needs to be 100mil low to make that noise on part lock, it'll just be a little low if it's not always cavitating.

Cryptic, your drive is pretty flat. Have a look at the fluid level, it's on the near side of the engine bay. The lid has a steering wheel on it and also acts as a dipstick too. As said above, could be just low and an easy fix.

Didn't you have this exact same problem after some major work, bam?

No. I had it completely empty itself. However, the avant developed this issue a few days ago, I bought a litre of PAS fluid from a stealer and dribbled a bit in, problem solved. The concern is "do I have a leak" but that's for the NY.

+1 I had the same on mine after my cambelt done, oil had leaked on to one of the pas lines causing it to expand so after a few days driving it dried out and shrank it leaked only a small puddle but sounded awful, I was sure it was a knackered pump but amd topped it up and re tightened the jubilee clip and 6000 miles later it's still fine
