Thinking of buying this...

Long shot but does anyone know this car?..

I've seen it twice now and even took my mate to see it yesterday, he's far more mechanical than me being an ex a BMW Engineer and now builds F1 engines at merc (useful guy to know!)

He said everything looked sound, front discs were a little lipped but not too bad and the pads were good, tyres seemed fine, no knocking from suspension etc. It did seem a little down on power but Im only comparing to my old Nissan 370Z, don't get me wrong the RS4 was faster just not as fast as I'd thought.

The guys aren't budging on price, he said he may be able to knock the £490 off but I'd still need to tax it and the thought of putting new front discs on in the near future is a worry.

Also, there's no service book, just invoices of the work carried out. It has a full audi service history he said he just needs to buy a service book and get the centres to stamp it.

Anymore thoughs advice/things to look out for before I make a final decision would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers guys,
Swanee

Don't know the garage so I cannot give you any help in that respect

Lack of service book would be a worry, maybe a call to Audi customer services with the VRN and VIN would be advised. If its got every single invoice then its less of a worry, but if there is no service book I doubt it has every invoice?

Personally I would want the service book in my hand and stamped up before parting with any cash.

Would get the dealer to do the faffing around with Audi as I guess it won't be a straight forward job.

+1

Without a stamped service book many prospective purchasers wouldn't consider a stack of invoices as FASH.
