Ok thanks Dave. Il try and get it checked out tomorrow.PetrolDave wrote:Very probably.Adamcell wrote:So I'm guessing there is a vacuum leak somewhere. Would this be the reason why the emissions light is on?
Emissions light has come on.

Do you know if your car have been re-mapped by MRC? If you've got sport cats then you'll need to program out a couple of sensors as you have no pre-cats, otherwise it will trigger an emission light. This is what happen to mine until I had it re-mapped.Adamcell wrote:I also forgot to say my car has a full Milltek fitted with sports cats so I'm starting to think this could be why the light is on.

Hi and yea it has been mapped by mrc. The valves are staying closed even when the engine is off. They are quite dirty and maybe getting stuck, so I will give them a good clean tomorrow and hopefully they will work.nij wrote:Do you know if your car have been re-mapped by MRC? The exhaust valves should open when the engine is off, as it require vacuum to close them.

They must be just clogged up with crap then. Il have a play with them tomorrow. Thanks for your help.nij wrote:The exhaust valves should open when the engine is off, as it require vacuum to close them.
Re: Emissions light has come on.
Quick update: Just had the car scanned and looks like it could be a lambda sensor. Just waiting For them to get back to me when they have checked the codes. Regarding the exhaust valves they aren't working still so I spoke to Milltek and they say it could be a solenoid. I may just get them cut out yet but we will see.

Guys, not sure about the flap removal as I intend top sell my car shortly. Can anyone give an idea of costings involved versus fixing the problem proeprly. My EPC and Management light has came on and this appears to be the fault. Garage want a closer look on Monday coming.

So far so good the light is off now. It turned out to be a lambda sensor which looks like it had been replaced by the garage I bought it from with a cheap part. So I had the car in at Pipewerx and had a genuine audi sensor fitted and all seems good now. I would highly recommend Pipewerx for exhaust work.

I've heard so many people have problems with cheap lambda sensors, it seems anything other than a Bosch or genuine OE part is very likely to be a waste of hard earned cash.Adamcell wrote:looks like it had been replaced by the garage I bought it from with a cheap part.

Need to know exactly which code(s).stuartbarriskell wrote:Guys, not sure about the flap removal as I intend top sell my car shortly. If it is a single code code be the sensor which depending on whichever bank might be very cheap or very expensive (one can be done in place, the other needs the manifold off).
If it's one or both banks then could be stuck (needs to come off and cleaned), actuator (there are two), solenoid, vacuum leak, one way valve.
Chances are the manifold needs to come off and audi don't repair them so new is about 1200-1500 fitted from dealer.
