noise test

Post by toyneg » Wed Nov 27, 2013 1:25 pm

just thinking out loud. i have a track day this Friday at Goodwood, all paid for before i got a new exhaust.

the limit is 98db, am i likely to fail the test, i have a non res, non valved milltek with the pre cats done. it's about 2 months old and the car has just been carbon cleaned, not sure if that makes a difference but it doesn't sound as drony in the car since i had that done.

anyone else got the same and had theirs tested?

You will smash that limit very easily.
I have non res valved with full cats and with valves open hit 98 db at 4.5k rpm.
Cats make a big difference to overall noise.

Failed at 101db but the kind marshals let me through anyway. Had a few warnings but no black flags. Just had to come off the gas on certain sections of the track.
