Re: Clarkson on the C7 RS 6
It feels as though he is running out of things to write about.
Traffic on the M1 Southbound seems to have been a problem since I commuted between North London and Northampton and back each day in 1990, and its no better now. Venting at a good car just because he was in a bad situation should not be the basis of judgement.
Small man syndrome was a bad analogy IMO - I would view that as pure frustration from having a very powerful car available to you on a stifled journey.
Does not change my positive opinion of the car, only lessens my opinion of the author.

Chris Harris gave a far more balanced view, which is rare in itself.
C7 RS6 is a very good car, best RS product probably since B7 and is up there with the R8.

Soooo, he drove it down the M1. Tell me a better car to drive down the M1?
No matter where you go, there you are.

Boring, predictable, pointless, better alternatives on the market....
Sums up top gear in my opinion.

Really, you'd one of those to drive down the M1 over a C7 RS6? Silverfox might just be Clarkson...Silverfox42 wrote:Priusbam_bam wrote:Soooo, he drove it down the M1. Tell me a better car to drive down the M1?

Point was that Clarkson would have moaned about either of those/any car in those conditions. I drove my wife's Q7 down from MK to St Albans at 5.00 this evening and it was no fun.
My apologies, I should have been clearer. Too much beer or something.

Re: Clarkson on the C7 RS 6
He loved the C5 RS 6, called it the 'stairway to heaven' and chose it over the M5, S Type R and E55 AMG. I don't think any car people take Clarkson seriously anymore, but his style can be entertaining. I ended up reading a review of my company car he wrote while on the site, and he said he wanted it more than he didn't want lung cancer... I drive a DS3 from work, lol.

Re: Clarkson on the C7 RS 6
I've always thought Clarkson to be rather moronic. His popularity in the media has gone to his head.
In his review of the C7, he remarks "I was a menace that night, getting far too close to the car in front in a stupid and dangerous attempt to scare the f****** b****** into getting out of my f****** way".
I have heard his loud voice in the Concorde Lounge at Heathrow, & quite frankly, he is going to use foul language and swear words, even without the use of a great piece of engineering like an RS6.

He gave the RS5 Cab 4 out of 5?!? First journo I know that's loved it
