What Brand of fuel do you use
What Brand of fuel do you use
As some one you know I have a history of driving Impreza's, known to have the creamiest chocolatiest engine blocks, so I was always very cautious about using fuel like Esso and BP as this introduced pinking and knocking on most engines that were tested. I am pretty sure that the Audi engine block is somewhat harder and without the turbos will not suffer like others I have driven. But I am still interested in what fuel do you use and have their been any tests on B8 or B7 engines to see which brand of fuel will be best. My current thought is that I will be using Shell V-Power, but mainly due to that being the fuel the P1 was mapped to

Thats Tesco's isnt it? I am surprised but when I have looked at tests on fuels Momentum does come out very well, but it does suffer from evaporation and a poor shelf life (like that matters with only a 60 litre tank). Is that because Tescos is local, points or something has steered you that way?

V Power without fail.
Only time the S4 misses out is in Le Mans - only because there isn't a Shell in Le Mans

I only use either Shell V Power Nitro or Momentum 99. Either way clubcard points or Shell rewards but whatever is in it never stays in for long....

Re: What Brand of fuel do you use
I've always used Vpower or momentum, but occasionally the bp 97 too if I've not had a choice
However, in the week running up to the RS246 rolling road day at AMD last month, I'd lent my car to a freind, who's wife had returned it back to with a full tank of ASDA 95 Ron shitty fuel, that normally I wouldn't touch with a barge pole
Although it smoked a little at the rolling road day, it still make 444bhp, which is identical to the factory spec
Admittedly, I'd topped up half the tank with Vpower en route, but it's still good for thought and there was certainly no perceivable change in power
