Thinking of moving on .....maybe

Post by rwilsonrs4 » Wed Nov 06, 2013 10:19 pm

well the time has come for a change... maybe , after 2 1/2 years of ownership i,m thinking of going for something newer , but still Audi . i,m thinking about the B8 S4, and then right away it would be away to MRC for the works and come home a beast :-)
i have a specific spec i,m looking for which may take a while to find sport diff ,damping control, dynamic steering, ADC B&O sound SS seats and some other stuff
i have done all i want to my car within reason and cost and love it to bits , every time i come home from the rig the first thing i do is take her out for a spin, the car not the missus :lol:and love the noise from both ends  , the way it goes and the prescence it gives on the road , its about the only one where i lve and everyone knows i,m home pretty quickly :blackrs4:
i,m really struggling to justify getting rid after all the money and effort i have put in , ( relative to what some of you have done not a lot maybe ) but i done all the work myself aside from the remapping by MRC , Hey maybe once i drive an S4 i might quickly change my mind and keep her .you never know

thats why it would be right down to MRC for exhaust additionall charge cooling and MRC stg 2 + and stronic remap , then it would be as fast as mine or prob a tad quicker looking at the times compared to mne as seen on tinternet whilst dong some research

I know saints car is keeping up with r8 v10's to quite high speeds,be interesting to see what you think if you go ahead with this, wide body conversion too would be nice :bigblink:

I know some guys that have rolled over to the S4 and then tried to come back but that was without the S4 map to 450 bhp. Have you thought about an R8 (V8) - it might just give you what you're looking for. I just think you won't think the S4 that special and the noise - meh.

'06 Audi RS4 - Sprint Blue (Non-res Milltek, valved)
'04 Lotus Elise 111R (Aubergine NOT purple) - will sell in the spring http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez4KN_l7 ... SVUBYBWtEA
'56 ST220 (Sold)
'97 ST24 (Sold - loved lots)

R8 v8 would be a backward step from a charged rs4 IMO however a v10 would be different, but then your talking dollars, you can easily get more than 450 out of an s4, and improve the sound by changing out the exhaust, plus you do have the charger noise

An MRC single turbocharged R8 V8 would be quite something though! Or even their twin supercharged one!!!!

Would be good, but it would be costing way more than an s4 with no practicality

Didnt an S4 make 490ps on the rolling road day? A wide body one of those would tick more boxes than the b8 RS4.

Timdogg /Silas , i get what your sayinfg and may well be right, much as i would love an R8 V8 its not on the horizon just now ,although dynamically it would be a very different to the RS4 its just not fast enuf ,i can leave them in the dust /fuel smoke :-) quite easily (not a v10 tho) TBH an S4 then modified to 480ish hp is the only thing i,m contenplating at the moment so if i,m to move it would be for one of those , or i,ll just keep mine until i have another bout of brain fade/rose tinted specs :blackrs4:

I think I could be quite tempted by a b8 s4. The fact that it's got some potential from stock is a big plus to me as it's a new project.

TBH its the thought of how easily tuned they are and the Stronic box i like the most and some newer technology , if my B7 had one i would keep it forever , you might convince me yet Danny , just need Iain to step in too :-), i,m 60 /40 keep the RS4 just now and havnt driven a B8 S4 yet so may rapidly go 100% RS4 again :bigblink:
