Christ, the state that Q5 arrived in! Not the first time I've heard a customer request the car to be left wrapped and it arrive unwrapped.

Question I had the other day actually, but I didn't want to hijack someone elses thread. Do dealers get funny about you taking a car away with the film still on? Surely they will want to check the paint first themselves? If you or the customer drive the car off their forecourt, you remove the film outside the dealer and find a defect, the customer will have already signed for the car. This situation must have come up - just wondered!

In most cases they do say they have to remove it to carry out the PDI successfully, which I dont have a problem with if I am at the inspection, otherwise they (the dealership) dont really have a leg to stand on where defects are concerned.

This service really does try and protect not only the customer but also the dealership. if I pick up on anything at the PDI then blame passes to manufacturer, anything after this time then unfortunately the dealership have a lot to answer for.

Will just add that this week has just seen my highest success yet. And this is all down to the new info i have regarding these matters.

.......so it's in the dealerships interest to work with you not against you.
