Oh dear, Smashed rear window!!!

Post by jamesfunge » Mon Sep 30, 2013 1:27 pm

HI Guys,

i wont bore everyone with the details of my stupidity around locking keys in car e.t.c but needless to say I now have a great open space where there once was a lovely window.

I have phoned Autoglass e.t.c but everyone is taking some time, can anyone suggest any options?

Thanks Guys :bash:

I didn't even know it was possible to lock your keys in the car.

If it's the avant then you'll need a window from Audi. It's got the antennas for the TV / Radio in it.

Also they'll be able to order the right tint, etc., with the VIN.

If insurance is paying then Audi it.

Why did you smash the window? any breakdown company or auto locksmith can gain entry easily

It won't be cheap and make sure AUDI get the tint right. Had to replace a full rear door window recently and the dealer got a 1 tint instead of the correct 2 tint to replace it. Minor but annoying.

Can't remember how shopp but there is a way you can do it. One of my places does it to the 6 so I can pick the car up with the spare key after they close.

Open the boot only and have autlock on afterwards (then drop the key inside).
You can still do the door pull and lock button technique to lock without the key.

NO. I click lock on the fob and then collect baby_bam from the baby seat and slam the door, it locks. Not been stupid enough to leave the key in there though...
No matter where you go, there you are.
