Inaudible Alarm

Post by Zen » Sun Nov 28, 2004 8:19 pm

The alarm on my S4 sounds like a flipping dog whistle.

Ok, I exaggerate slightly, but not by much...it actually sounds like the bleep emitted when a truck is reversing.

I have read posts elsewhere reporting the same thing. Somebody has reported that when their alarm triggered it also sounded the car horn. This would be good. Can the alarm be re-programmed to do this?

I bow to Germanic prowess concerning all things automotive but cannot figure this one out...is it that on hearing this bleep you're supposed to wake up thinking you're about to be run over by a truck?

If someone's trying to nick my car I want shock and awe!! :jump: :jump_clap:

I can't help with the alarm question but welcome to the site, I am sure someone will be along soon with the info you need.

The horn was me.

Trust me the difference is just amazing, in fact the actual car horn as a siren is just plain unpleasant when it goes off. I also took the liberty of fitting the clifford siren inside the car, which when activated was pretty nasty too.

Noone ever stole the car, so I must have done something right.... ;-)

So how good are you with a crimper/soldering iron?... I can post instructions, but depending on your abilities I'll tailor them to suit.

Cheers

Hiya Dan,

Haven't used a soldering iron since I was abt 15...even then most of my finished work resembled pigeon <beep>.

Will ask my mate who's a mechanic at Rydale to look at it.

Thanks in advance.
