Rolling Road Day at QST
Rolling Road Day at QST
Kim has asked if we are interested in a Rolling Road day at QST in Haywards Heath (West Sussex)
Would need around 20 cars, approx £40/50 each.
Let me know if there is any interest.
The rollers at QST something else IMO, housed in a fully sealed and air-conditioned cell to give repeatable results.
Massive air blowers for the IC's.

fifty quid for a quick go on the rollers ?!?
Call me a cheapskate, but that sounds like a rip-off to me.
After all, your only on the rollers for around 30 minutes, and you don't get any tuning as such.
Other car clubs pay in the order of 20 quid a go (admittedly not at QST though).
No wonder Kim wanted you to ask...
I might go along, and might go on the rollers, but will have to get a tube of K-Y as I'm
bound to feel like I've been shafted for that price.
Or am I just way off the mark.

Too many toys, not enough time
@JohnWfifty quid for a quick go on the rollers ?!?
I think you might just be a tad off the mark there chap.
As someone why knows the cost of that state of the art dyno and cooling system,suffice it to say that at 50quid a run it will take a hell of a lot of cars to pay for the equipment.
@Prawn
Have to agree,its a very impressive dyno cell, I spent a fair few hours outside it listening to Herr Link torturing my S3!

How did the new suspension setup fare on the track by the way?

Have to say, it is just to far away for me. Although I would like to go to see what the REVO does on the rollers....
@VST
I have to agree with webbo & Ben mate..£50 dibs is far to much for a power run. I realise how much it cost Kim, but not really a valid argument for a club rolling road day. I am very very sure he would get a lot of work out of it. To be a respected tuner of high powered supercars, such as ours I think you need some rollers. Although I have to agree with you both in the fact that the facilities there are very impressive - not sure where we would put 20 cars though.
Just my 2peeees worth

50quid for a power run on a dyno facility that is purpose built to suit the(pretty unique)requirements of our vehicles?Operated by technicians very familar with our cars and there modifications.
I dunno lads,it seems cheap to me........if the thought of parting with a fifty worries you that much I think you might be driving the wrong car
There should be a dyno plot from QST on my 345bhp S3 thread somewhere.
The Maha rollers can log boost,intake temps,wheel speed etc.....pretty much everything really.
