Driving Days

Can anyone recommend one of those driving days from experience? Looking at about 300 quid... Anywhere in UK, except maybe Shetland. Not really interested in off-road or single seater stuff, just real cars and maybe lean something.

I did the Tangerine "6 of the Best" at Malory park. It was pretty good, but nothing compared to a good track day. Your constantly under the 'control' of the instructors. I hear the single seater stuff is pretty good fun too.

Rally driving days can be fun too.............for that money you can get a day in a scooby doo, much fun and sore cheeks from grinning thrown in...

THE best driving day in the country has to be the Palmersport Motorsport Sensation.
You feel that you have hardly been outside of the cars all day, and the instructors (whilst asking you to be mechanically sympathetic to the cars) want you to push yourself as far as you possibly can.
Shame it costs twice what you are looking for though

A little over your budget but I would recommend Don Palmer's courses.

I went on his "Wetter the Better" course (since superceded) some time ago at MIRA, and it was a great course and he's a very nice guy.

Rally courses can also be fun, but if you want to learn real world stuff in your own car, I think Don Palmer's courses would be better.

My wfe and I did the Audi Driving Experience at Silverstone.

It's not about racing but was excellent. Fun, taught us a lot and very well run, we had agreat time!

Not cheap but got it with the car so I'm not complaining!!

I can't recommend any as I've only been on one and it was disappointing. The Knockhill track day. Basically taught me the best lines for the knockhill track. I wanted to learn how to get the best out of my S4. But if your a complete novice then it better than nothing.

That's why the Audi experience is so appealing. Unfortunately its fully booked for this year - well at least that's what the Audi UK website states.

Patrick, I was planning on going to one of the Audi experiecnes myself until I found out that 2 of the 3 cars (S4 and RS6) are both Autos and the TT is DSG - not what I want my Audi!

I would save up and do the Palmersport course - fantastic by all accounts.

Or do an RS246 trackday - no d1ckheads allowed- about as safe as it gets

About £300 IIRC - learn how to handle your own car at speed with ultimate safety. Couldn't recommend it more highly, and I have done Brands / Palmersport etc.
