We buy any car!!!!!!!

Post by skirs6 » Fri Aug 30, 2013 5:16 pm

I keep hearing all these stories about how the online quote they give is then reduced massively on inspection but i'm going to give them a go tomorrow the inspection site is only 15 minutes away and the price they have quoted is nearly £1k more than P/X.

They do seem a bit over keen they have phoned me four times in the last three days just to confirm i'm still coming.

The other slight issue i have ,You can leave your car with them if you have agreed a price but the best payment they offer is next working day which costs you £24.

Will up date tomorrow :D

Wow. It'd only be worth it if you drove it into the ground and cleared all codes beforehand.

I gave them my Alfa recently, and got raped by them. They knocked money off for stone chips (on a 9 year old car) and any scratches or anything they could find. I have had the for 8 years so knew it inside out but he didn't want to know anything about it nor did he ask what options it had or want to look at the pile of history I had. But for a no hassle sale then I'd use them again.
Car was for sale a few weeks later with a story about the previous ownerlooking for 6 months to find it (this was rubbish, I found it almost straight awayand wasn't discussed anyway), he also said it had the Q2 diff fitted, er no it didn't!! It was up for about 3 times the price they paid me and was gone in days.

One of my friends sold his db9 to them and was quite happy with the offer and they didn't haggle at all and failed to notice that it had been in a massive shunt on track!

So do they sell under the "webuyanycar" banner or do they trade on "wesellanycar"? Come to think of it, if they buy any car, I guess they sell any car by default. Still, "wesellanycar" sounds too blaise and dodgy for my liking.

They used to sell at auction but wised up to the money to be made and now have their own auctions (cut out the middle man) so normally will sell to other traders.

I spent ages cleaning under the bonnet and he didn't even lift it to look! He didn't spot the rust on the wing or all the other little bits wrong with it, but probably neither did the poor lad that bought it from the dealer. As soon as we exchanged paperwork, the webuyanycar dude locked up his office, jumped into my 'old' car and spanked it off up the road. Saw him a few minutes later still just driving it around, windows down, posing.

I was trading in a station car and initially an Audi dealer told me its not worth their time, so got a quote off the website for webuyanycar and then asked the Audi dealer to match it or deal was off, as I had heard they knock the prices down when you drop the car off. So just using the quote for leverage with a Dealer worked for me.

Well, why have I waited until today to update?.. I turned up at my appointment with my father in law who was more than uncomfortable to sell his car this way he would normally P/X with a dealer for a new one.
The quote on line from WBAC. Was 1k more than the dealers best P/X so I thought its got to be worth a go.
It could not have been more hassle free a quick look over the vehicle then an offer. They only actually knocked off £100 for a scrape on the front wing.
We paid the fees including next day money transfer and shook hands and off we went with no car and no money. Father law not overly happy at this point.

We were told money would transfer next working day between 1400 and 1700. (Monday)

1715 father in law phones the bank have said no money has come through. Bank now closed!!!!!! Oh <beep> I thought he didn't want to sell the car this way in the first place. Numerous messages left with WBAC didn't sleep great last night.

9.30 today Father in law phones. Money had gone through at 1615 yesterday as planned the bank hadn't checked the account correctly . Banks again that F##k up.

If you haven't fallen asleep yet from my experience I can't fault WBAC :D
