Thanks, im glad the Clio is light....however last year when I drove to the Ring and Spa in the Clio, sweating my tits off with ear defenders in, this purchase had to be made, comfort now is the word.

For sure, those trips have been some of the best, im gutted more ppl did not come with us to experience the fun had. The time we all got pulled in Belgium was fun, the time I broke down in Belgium and France was not fun lol

Roll on Spa in October ;)

Little update:

I passed my ARDS test at Brands in the week, Medical done and application for National B race license sent off, if car is up and running and tested then I may get a race in by the end of the year. Saying that I want the car to be 100% race ready for 2014.

Looking at entering the Track Attack French Trophy and/or possibly the MSVTDT

The car is taking shape and starting to look like a car now, fining time between work and the car is tight.

At present I have managed to

DIY Flock dash and install
Wire in FIA Kill switch
Tidy wiring up and laid battery cable
Installed control panel with T pulls and the Cut off switch
Pure motorsport stud conversion

To do:

Remap engine
Mark Fish geometry and corner weight
Wrap car, going to a light pastel blue (Gulf racing blue)
4 pots
Lightweight bonnet

Interior pics

16/17mpg, (300miles full tank)

Slightly worst than the modded RS4, however towing will be a different story :drink:

OK bit of an update...

Spa is fast approaching, less than a week to go.

Like in all good car race modification style, im cutting it fine and rushing around like a mad ma n to get things complete...did not help that I had to go to Vegas a few weeks ago and to smash out a 2 week work shift...these things in life are here to test us ;)

Anyway...

So whats been happening..

The Clio finally got mapped today, the lads down at Ktec Racing squeezed me in for some live mapping. Remember this car is now on a new engine and does not have thje "wild 438" cams in it any more, so you can say its de-tuned (few happy faces out there now lol). She made a nice 197bhp with the ITBs and aftermarket ECU...that will do me nicely.

Tomorrow I will drop the car off with PVL, NickRS6s wrapping company in Sussex for its make over, colour will be a sky blue.

Last week I dropped the car off with Mark Fish (ex Clio Racer champion) to have some more work carried out...the car was corner weighted and had a race geometry set up conducted. Car weighed in at 890kg with 1/4 tank of fuel. Not a bad weight saving there....with my weight added (84kg) this brings the PTWR to around 225bhppt...same as a Audi RS2 :)

Other work, I had 2 extra B pillar gussets wielded on to the bolt in cage, now making it a 8 point system, this will stiffen the chassis up, I was always at a disadvantage with just the 6 point when compared to the guys running 10 and 12 point cages. I also had an additional driver door bar added for extra protection when racing.

I also had an additional PAS pipe made up to replace the weaker Renault one.

So all in all its finally coming together....I have a few jobs left to do, such as tidy the wiring up, fit the 4 pots, sort the brake ducting out and to add additional brake deflectors. All this is a weekends work.

Roll on Spa

p.s sorry no time to take pics...will get some up at the weekend
