Milltek Non Res

Post by evojkp » Thu Aug 22, 2013 8:55 pm

Got my Milltek, cat back non res race black ovals fitted this morning at Star. Been a while since I've seen those guys and always a pleasure to deal with.

What can I say about the exhaust. Initially when I heard it start up, I was unsure as it sounded no different to std......but how wrong could I be.

Quiet and 'slightly burbly on tick over, but start to pull away gently and it sounds perfect. Meaty and low. Keep the revs below 3k and it sounds absolute quality. On anything over half throttle....OMFG!!!! Jim from Star took it out a run to ensure there was nothing knocking before doing a dyno run. He must have been about 1-2 miles away and I heard him open the taps. That was the first time I gave a giggle today.

On the way home it was back windows cracked and a 'few' full throttle blasts....every tunnel now has a standard routine - drop a gear, boot, roar, lift off, pop pop....BANG, gurgle, gurgle, then giggle giggle........

If you like your exhausts to give drama to the car, this is the one for you, but not for the shy folks out there as you'll never sneak up on anyone....EVER

I've been looking at this exhaust. I'm also looking at the AWE exhaust as well as this comes highly rated on my other forum.

I thought initially when I heard it the start up was deeper than the stock exhaust. Got any before and after?

Not got a before and after, but the vid above is the one that sold me on it.

Heard an awe and it is also impressive, but the tails are still quad and protrude a bit out for my liking. I really wanted ovals.

I think you can adjust the tail pipe protusion on the awe system.

Quads all the way for me.
