s4 or rs4
s4 or rs4
help me guys.im torn between an s4 avant or an rs4 if i buy an rs4 it will leave me a bit tight for crimbo are they worth the extra?if however i go after an s4 and mod it to 320bhp i can have a new gsxr1000 for next year and plenty of cash left over.its going to be driven by the wife most of the time as i work abroad.the softer ride and smoother power delivery are a bonus for the missus but i love the rs4 seats and power. what do you reckon guys?sorry forgot to say hi im a newbie to the site
Personally, I'm partial to the S4. With tuning, the S4 can produce every bit as much power as the RS4...usually with a better torque curve. The wide fenders of the RS4 are quite sexy though. It's a tough choice.

Even if you buy the RS4, the chances are you will mod it soon enough anyway.
STBO but you can go a long way with an S4 and still not spend the same money as an RS4 - carry out a search on K04 conversions to S4's and look in the galleries.
As S4driver says, if you get one with Recaros, you could end up with all of the toys!

K04's, Tanoga, full Milltek, Forge DV's, H&R, Samco TBB&F!

im starting to swing towards the s4 but how hard will it be getting hold of recaros if they arent fitted any ideas on price?surely theres more to it than bigger turbos and flared arches for an rs4? has it got a wider wheelbase to improve handling?anyone had any problems with turbos going on miley chipped ones?i know audis are bomb proof but turbos are turbos if you know what i mean?im home from work tmrw and going to start looking at both rs4 and s4.anyone know of any good ones for sale at sensible money?

Lengster,
the best thing to do IMHO is to put Recaro's on your spec list when looking for an S4. Although S4's are becoming more affordable its still worth taking yourtime over finding a good one. And vetting the owner as well.
Mine had Silk Nappa Recaro's so there are a few around. Be fussy...... and get what you want. I was lucky that one came up for sale in Autotrader and I found the guy lived in the next road to me, so I thought was worth looking, had a look and fell in love. The car has every option ticked except heated seats and Bose!
