Boot Not Locking.

Post by Digger » Tue Aug 20, 2013 12:28 am

Hi chaps,

When locking my car with the keyfob I find I can still open the boot! You can hear the lock actuator working when you lock the car, but either it isn't fully locking the boot or something else is amiss. All the doors remain locked. Very occasionally it does actually lock, but its definitely got much worse.

Any suggestions?

Cheers.

It's a feature. You can activate or deactivate the boot locking by turning the key left or right. Read the manual, all will become clear.

Thanks. I'm away and unable to get to the manual until Wednesday evening at the earliest. My concern is that the car is not in a secure place. Will have a play with key in the boot lock.

A private message to confirm would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It could also be the lock mechanism linkage, it is plastic and poo. Mine bosted (local black country slang for fecked) and did the same.

Now - Empty garage

Shop was right. A turn of the key activated the boot lock.

I'd like a £ please.

On a serious note there are many Internet posts about dodgy C5 boot lock issues.
