I run spybot alot to make sure i have no spyware/adware running and always use McFee firewall.
Like i said ive tried disabling firewalls but with no results.
I can do a trace to the bbc topgear site fine =

Ive ran the network optimizer from the Plus.net site and DrTCP utility to alter settings as recommended by the chaps on ADSL Guide Forums!
Ive also just got another pc on the network running windows xp pro and the topgear works fine, this is running lan connection also!
So there is something definately something wrong with my main pc settings?
Also here are the errors which sometimes happen on outlook, its very very rare though for any errors to appear at all as usually outlook just sits there!

can you ping the wired PC from the wireless PC? This will tell you if the router is configed properly.
If you can ping fine then it may well be a firewall issue. It looks like you are using a http connection for your mail. Do you have a pop3 mail account (usually provided by your isp), if so do you have any problems with that? Doubt its CAT5 if he can get access to the web from that PC

Also do you have this same mail account running on outlook on another PC, if the other pc has no connection issues then its probably an outlook express config issue (may need a patch) on the offending PC.
If you had incorrectly configured the network setting on the pc you wouldnt be able to access the web or ping another pc on the network. Sounds more like an Outlook express problem now. If you have another copy of outlook connecting to that same account at the same time as the pc thats having problems connecting then may be its an authentication issue?
I know how annoying this can be, I hope you find the solution soon.

I'd check the FAQ at your mail site, reset all the Outlook Express Mail settings, making sure you don't have your time out set too short. If this still doesn't work, try downloading another email client, like The Bat! and see if that is ok. If so, reinstall OE, and install all patches and service packs for it.
just had a look at that outlook express window and it says:
Protocol: HTTPMail
Port: 0
port 0???
As a last attempt i would try 2 things:
1. if possible, try using DHCP instead of assigning all the ip address manually
2. Alternatively plug your modem straight into the dodgy PC and see if you still have problems
Also you may need a firmware update for your router. Try downloading the latest software for your router from the 3Comm site.
Also make sure that there are no physical switches on the unit that determines the operation mode ie whether it functions as an AP, Router, bridge etc. If there is a switch obviously make sure its on the right mode

Riz - not sure if you've sorted it now, however I had very similar problems with my D-link wireless router & plus.net account. It ended up being a router firmware issue (as per sash's comment) - I had SP2 already loaded, and the firmware upgrade was required due to this apparently. I guess you have tried this already though!

Looks like AOL has buggered my pc up.... only solution would be to format it all and start again.
Im going to just use my other pc for the items i cannot use via my original pc.
