Gloves

Post by MalcolmSu » Sat Aug 03, 2013 6:05 pm

can anyone recommend a make of latex / nitrile gloves to wear whilst working on the car?? The ones I've been using rip far too easily - i end up wearing two pairs which cuts off the circulation somewhat...

I am a helicopter mechanic and tend to use these. They are treated on the palm side to stop petrols, oils and lubes from contaminating them but are nice and thin allowing you to have good feel through the materials for fiddly jobs.

Have a look around on eBay for the best deal buddy if you go for them.

They are pretty cheap and hard wearing for the price. Even better you get a few sets.

I use powder free latex gloves everyday ( engineer ), not clever enough to be a gynaecologist.

You are right, most makes are crap and don't last 10 mins.
We are trying some new ones at the moment and they are much better. They were developed for Tattoo artists to prevent contact with blood and also stop potential nicks and pricks

They have a textured fingerprint on the end which gives better grip on nuts and bolts etc, still made from latex and black in colour ( great for mucky jobs ).

Can't seem to get them from many places but I should be getting a delivery next week, if you PM me i will send you some FOC to try.

Jay.
