Re: New owner :)
Bro, I have a lot of respect for you owning this car at this age but recognise that when it goes wrong in an RS4 it goes wrong at a speed that most other cars never reach. I'm just saying that nothing can save you from physics and maybe just being careful in the bends for a few months until you get the hang of the car would be a good thing.
You're obviously a sensible guy anyway as you bought a forum car (whose was it?) and it looks awesome but maybe just take it steady - nice colour btw just not as fast as Sprint Blue!

Yep I did all my homework & research before I bought one
I bought it of parptoot.
How did you know it was 2006 model ??? & it's got 77600 ok the clock but has had all the major parts / faults fixed with receipts to prove & recently de-coked. Only problem is bad brake judder that needs to be sorted !!! Getting the windows tinted on teusday which will complete the look in my opinion

Don't bother changing the indicators, old school is best. Also 2006 has the push buttons in the cab without the chrome. 70k miles is what I'd expect a 21 year old to settle on, no offence but you are a smart guy - these engines last for ever so you have done well - if you don't mind I might send you a link about young guys that have got into trouble with the car before you - it might help?

Hope it helps bro - the brake judder can be sorted by really hard braking or change the discs when the time comes, there's normally a bulk buy around the corner

Yep it's to much hassle for such a little gain. A friend had one a while ago that was on 148k & said it was still running strong.
Wow that's pretty scary :/ never nice to see cars like that & knowing that people have died. I do take my time in it though & don't drive like the chavs you see in corsas wanting to race everything.
I have looked into getting them skimmed, £100 for the fronts & he said it would get rid of the judder. Might give that a go & save a bit of money for now

Re. the de-tango. I really wouldn't bother, you can buy brand new OEM headlamps (mmm, shiny) with clear indicators for £189.91 from http://www.allpartssouthwest.com/acatal ... 6_06_.html. I then sold my used ones for £220 for the pair on ebay.

I can't be bothered changing them. Just more money spent for no real gain
Re: New owner :)
I have 3 month old disks and pads [OEM] all round in my 07 RS4 Avant - I developed bad brake judder recently. Last weekend I borrowed my neighbours compressor and cleared all the vent holes in the discs and gave the calipers a good 'blow out' - My break judder has gone .....Dec369 wrote:Only problem is bad brake judder that needs to be sorted !!!
