After 12 weeks of waiting and being messed about it took another twist yesterday, they said they couldn't do the other work tomorrow even though I have checked twice a week with them that its all booked in. I went fecking metal at the poor chap down the phone, he rang me last night saying he is pulling as many strings as he can to sort everything. I'll be glad when It's all over, bet the wheels won't fit properly now
It's all your fault to bam, you kept posting pics of sweet wheels.
I'm throwing another right turn on this thread, bam, are you going to ADI? Shopp is going

Yep, he has been very quiet over ADI. Looking to book the hotel regardless of my diagnosis. Big ass trek for the other tall one....

1. Denial - My gearbox / DRC won't fail. It's all hyped up by the forums. Ling Longs will be perfectly adequate for the kind of driving I do in a 500hp car.
2. Anger - Fcuknuts, my car's losing water, running lumpy and now my Ling Longs appear to be down to minimum after 450 miles.
3. Bargaining - Come on guys, what else could it be other than a head gasket?
4. Depression - I should have bought a 335d, why does this always happen to me?
5. Acceptance - Yes, Mr Bank Manager, just tell me when you'd like me to spread my legs.
Sounds better than paying to run your better half's Mini Cooper S

In the 4 years from new.
2 x high pressure fuel pumps.
Head de-coke.
Timing chain, guides and sprockets.
£400 boot release switch.
2 x New Discs all round

All out of warranty with BMW claiming none of it is down to well documented design faults
Plus the shame of owning a pseudo BMW.

My friends 1.5 year old X3 just popped its turbo at £2500 with labour.
A good case of badge engineering all round from Munchen/Oxford.

I'm under no illusion the 6 may cost at some point but I've come to accept that there is no point worrying.

On a positive note.
1. My savings on Tax, Insurance and Tyres in comparison to my last chariot would pay for a new gearbox every year and if I use Ling Longs maybe even stretch to the DRC as well

These Ling Longs sound like fun.
I really excelled on the skid pan training on my driving courses and if it all goes Peter Tong I'm an experienced off road driver.

Lol, I challenge you to a drift race with us both on L688 tyres ;). They are the most hilarious tyres ever made, in a "are we going to survive our trip to Tesco" kind of way - http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Linglong/L688.htm

"DO NOT BUY IT'S LIKE DRIVING ON A BAG OF GREASY MARBLES"

"The grim reaper will be sat in your lap on every trip .
The name is very mis leading , it really should say on the sidewall Ditchfinder.
A BMW 328 really is not a fast car but a tank slapper a 45mph in a straight line on a damp road."

I toughed it out for many months on a set of these on a Scoob and they were truly shocking, yet bloody funny at the same time.

Being a soldier I'm a professional adrenaline junkie but even my swingers are shrinking in fear now

In all seriousness I never scrimp on tyre choice or brakes. (Although my £400 98 Mondeo / work chariot isn't on premiums) but that's because it tops out at 80.

Are these Ling Longs made by Dunlop per chance as I once made the mistake of a set of Dunlop Sport Maxx for my XK and after maybe 2k I thought I was driving a 1500BHP monster on Gran Turismo.

Out of pure morbid curiosity Are they really that bad? Not that I intend to try!

Does she still post? I've seen plenty posts on here and SRS in the search function but none since her last Gbox left this mortal coil.
