B7 Sub and amp upgrade?

Post by jaysrs4 » Fri Aug 09, 2013 9:04 pm

I rolled back a few pages and can't seem to find any info on this. Is it possible?

Although I love the BOSE sound, I was wondering how easy it is to upgrade the sub under the parcel shelf and amp it up.

Many thanks

James

Not too difficult.

Is this what you had in mind:

Just kidding.

Adding an amp is not too much hassle, just depends on how bothered you are about chopping up the loom.
I looked at upgrading the sub under the parcel shelf but everyone told me it was a waste of time so didn't bother. I put a sub box in the boot instead, which will be much better than an upgraded sub, but I ended up swapping it for this monster as it took up less room (as it has no box). Not as tight as the one in the box but it still drops and moves a hell of a lot of air.

Check out my thread for more info, or let me know if you can't find it and I'll look back for it.

Jesus, did you install that for extra thrust?!!

Although I admire the size of your girth sir, I had something a tad more 'incognito' in mind!

Also I didn't really want to hack up the loom :-s

I'll have a gander at your thread buddy - if I can find it!

I didn't hack my loom either. I bought an old Bose amp from eBay and and hacked that up. I can switch back to original set-up in a matter of seconds.

This is the amp socket that I took apart plugged into the loom. The original Bose amp is still in it's original place just out of shot to the left.
