2007 RS6 V10 500hp

Announced today (14 nov) on the AutoMoto TV program in France. The new A6 Avant and future S6 and RS6 models.

The RS6 they say will have the V10 5l engine from Lamborghini producing 500hp. The picture of the A6 Avant looked great, much better than the new saloon/limosine. The car is longer and the roofline more swept with lower sideglass. I'm sure an RS6 type front spoiler will help the looks of the new 6's enormous grill.

The new RS6 might be interesting but perhaps no better than an MTM chipped 4.2 l V8 turbo with Movit brakes. However, by 2007 our RS6's might look like ...station wagons.

You can go to the www.Audi.de web site and click on the A6 link. There are many picures of the A6 Avant, price lists, car configurator, tech specs etc.

S6 and RS6 info on the TV was voice over video of the new A6 Avant. No pix or renderings of S and RS.

I am skeptical of the announced 2007 date for the new RS6, but being a French TV program I'm sure it's correct.
