Yes I saw that, very cheap, could almost buy 2 sets for the same money as 1 set of good years...

I would avoid a cheap or buget tyre it's like putting hob nail boots on a olympic sprinter the goodyears and michelins may seem expencive but you get longer life out of the tyre so they are worth the money i have tried hankoos verd goodyear and michilins and i would have stuck with michelins if i still had the B7

In a similar boat - car has Low budget Accelera tyres on. They are ok but on my own cars I never compromise on tyres - they are the only thing that connects you to the ground.

Wheels are being refurbed so just last night I have ordered some EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 2
255/35 R19 96 Y FP V1 XL
http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/car ... %7CFP.html

Camskill were out of stock and these ones have a slightly newer compound (V1) that is supposed to make them a little better in the wet (A rated, rather then B) and offer better fuel economy.

Of the cheaper tyres I have tried the Vrdesteins on my old BMW and they were great and I would have got them for the RS4 but looking at the price for the sake of a £100 I thought I would try the Goodyears. I was going to spend even more and go with Michelin Pilot Super Sports but they seem to be out of stock in most places and also the Goodyears are (supposed to be) very very slightly better in the wet so hopefully they are good.

Very expensive month so far - new front brake discs, pads (Ferodo), wheel refurb and tyres................. gulp!

Mine came with these and I have so far been a bit cheap and not replaced them, only thing good about them is that you can 4 wheel drift at 20mph in the rain, any more than that and you are backwards!!

This is a good idea, a tyre rating thread which can be updated as different people try different tyres.....

Had a set of 452s on my B6 S4. They were good but didn't last long. Got Vredesteins on my RS; they are fine 99% of the time... but if you ever intend on taking a mini roundabout (flick flick) at speed, make sure you do it within spitting distance of a Calvin Klein store because you'll be walking there like Rob Lowe in Wayne's World.

I've moved from P-Zeros to Vreds. Subjectively they are much of a muchness for normal use, but I do find the Vreds more "skittish" at the limits in the dry. I'm a pussy when driving in the wet so cannot really comment on that aspect of their performance ...

Yes, "skittish" is definitely an appropriate word; I've had a few unwanted surprises at surprisingly low speeds in reaction to speedy weight shifts that Pilot Sports would soak up no hassle, depending on wear etc. Makes me a bit wary... But at the same time that might be a good thing!

Ive just ordered a set of 4 Goodyears asymmetric 2's.... £780 fitted, balanced and with a 4 wheel alignment thrown in.

I was going to go for the Michelin's but jumped to these at the last minute. I get them fitted this weekend.
