Steering Wheel Refurb

Post by sync24 » Mon Jun 24, 2013 10:40 pm

Does anyone know how long it takes to recover a steering wheel? I want to take mine to Royal Steering Wheels and I was wondering if it could be done in a day? IE While u wait?
I have emailed them but they have not got back to me yet.

kinda wish I never sold my original fbsw now ... guess I'll have to find a cheap one whilst its away then unless they do an exchange which I doubt as mine is one from a TTRS [apparently rare in manual IE padle] form.

I've decided to wait until I get the seats re-trimmed over the winter - I'll get in done at the same time - I'm thinking of plush automotive but if anyone else has good experience with someone nearer to kent/london then I'd be interested to get more info - thanks for the links/comments guys on this thread.

I'm sending a wheel to Royal Steering Wheels for a re-trim and they have told me that the normal turnaround time is seven days. They close orders on a Friday and then work through what they have the following week. They do provide exchanges but as I can't drive for a couple of weeks I am not taking them up on this.

Will let you know how I got on when I get it back - but they do seem to be highly recommended.

All the best with it.

+1 on Royal Steering Wheels - they are going to swap mine over for week whilst they re-trim mine - I'll then pop back a week later for a swap over again.

Can recomend Royal Steering Wheels, did a brilliant job on mine, covered over the top of the original to give a better size. Took nearly 2 weeks though.
