Revo Stage 1 for B8.5 released

Post by 999pooch » Wed May 01, 2013 12:14 pm

As per a few members on here I have been waiting for the release of ECU mapping software for the B8.5 S4.

My preferred vendors being MRC (Good rep on here) or APR (trusted by many on a lot of forums).

However I have just noticed on the Revo site they have released their stage 1 for the Simos ECU's on the B8.5.

Anyone on here used Revo for the S4?

I must admit I'm tempted being an impatient git, but should I wait for MRC? Anyone been in touch with them recently regarding this?

I have heard good things about REVO and having met them a few times they are very helpful and even did some things for free for me.

Bet you can't wait!

Did Chris Harris have a Revo map on his pre-FL S4?

Heard about you guys over on Briskoda, you certainly have a earned good name from what I have read.

As nickyboy said, you need to post some results. My arm is ready & waiting to be twisted :bigwave:

Got any other mods planned?

I've just bought adjustable coilovers and spacers to get a proper stance on the car. The s4/5 just don't seem to sit right, it does my head in.

I'm thinking RS5 honeycomb grill next as well. Maybe a remap after a year or so.

TBH I'm quite happy with the way it looks / handles. I like the Q car look ;)

My main want is more power (torque) hence the remap. I think I will probably go to stage 2 though as the torque gains seen really impressive.

I might get some better wheels later in the year though, some 19's would be nice and I could keep my 18's for winter :)

Funny you should mention it. I spoke to Doug @ MRC yesterday to see how long before they release their maps for the FL S4.

He reckons a couple of weeks and it may be ready :)

So I'm going to wait and go straight to stage 2. Its only a couple of hundred more than Revo stage 1 and given MRC's reviews on here I'd be stupid not to wait.

So hopefully I'll be posting my review in here in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted.

What does stage 2 entail? Bet it will be very quick.

I had a short blast with an 07 plate Cupra today and he was pretty much as quick in a straight line as me. Guessing it was tuned as it didn't look like a stock exhaust.

Maybe I need that map too.

I've had a few close runs with 'lesser' cars. Not had one quicker than me yet. Suppose it is payback for all the times I used to put the mapped VRS against 'better' cars and often win. I still think my vRS would keep up with the S4 in a straight line (rolling start of course).

I'm just going to level the playing field and put the S4 where it belongs :)

I find the S4/5 are great off the line but suffer in the mid range. I haven't yet been shown a clean pair of heels yet but I agree that they need more power.
