Refurbished Calipers

Post by R8GXR » Wed Jun 19, 2013 8:40 pm

Got these back today - very impressed with the finish they have. Will look very nice with my new plus discs, yellow stuff pads, new tyres and refurbished wheels along with spacers! About £160 all in in the end and paints garenteed for 2 years.

Thought about it but with pads and discs already new it just was not worth it. Ive got new braided lines going in as well so I cant see these being that bad....? Also needed the money for some additions to my ZZR1400 which Im doing up as well.

A company on the net called "The Brake Caliper Company". Did take over a week mind, nearly 2 in my case but i was in no real rush.

They look to have done a decent job - nice one :beerchug:
Were the calipers fully refurbed, or was it just to freshen up the paint and decals?

Only a cosmetic refurb as all pistons slide perfect and dust boots undamaged. They supplied the decals as there garenteed then. Web price grows quick so dont think its as cheap as it says, still good value though.

I have been considering getting this done to my old set that have set on the garage floor since October last year to help sell them (when I eventually advertise them....) but I doubt that that I would recoup the £160 etc put in to refurbing them. Was contemplating sticking them up for sale at £300 as is and while it is a close call, I think they were in better overall aesthetic condition than yours R8 going on that pic.

Mine worked fine but just looked shabby compared to all the other new bits so bit the bullet to get them done.
