Rear Windows

OK noob question the rear windows do they not go all the way down the reson i ask a few weekends ago had a drive across the Lecht road with the wife and her cousins in the car the wife was in the back as to scare the cousins in the front seat but when opening the rear window it would not go all the way down into the door is this a safety feature to stop little Jenny and Johnny from leaping out of the back seat if so can be over ridden i cant see any thing in the manual about it

That's normal.
On most cars.
The window has nowhere to go as the door is cut around the wheel arch.
