I'd love to have it done, my car gives a puff of smoke when cold, has done ever since it was modified. Woudln't be surprised if it was carbon related. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time at the minute.

honestly i wouldn't bother its not going to work,...
lets be real even if they had the correct equipment for direct injection engines (which they dont) i doubt you will see any real cleaning.
considering they dont have the right equipment this is a non starter, save your time its pointless.

Thought an independent test had been offered?

It was, it was done, and...no pics. Im guessing the techs dont fully understand what we are talking about (sorry).

True its not your money, but it is your engine at risk.....large carbon deposits being blown off (if it worked)could damage the cylinder liner and cause hot spot which "could" result in a engine failure....Jesus its happened to one guy on here already a few years back when a large chunk of carbon "naturally" fell off.

Unless I see results with my own eyes then I will shut up and eat my shorts.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

What mods? I'm betting you had precats gutted... Or are running aftermarket downpipes with no cats or high flow cats

Being catless you get all kinds of interesting smells and smokes lol

That's right, a guy in France maybe?

There was another guy in America who that happened to. BenSTI He had mega scoring on the cylinder walls of one cylinder. Audi, during warranty to inspection, ruled a foreign body (carbon, but they were careful not to self incriminate in writing ) had fallen into the cylinder and gave him a new engine installed.

As per my signature, precats gutted and aftermarket exhaust from cat back but standard downpipes and main cats etc.

Hi

We have paid top money for the equipment, but believe me it has paid for itself, so we are not trying to sell a product to recoup any outlay.

As I understand it the terra clean process isn't like seafoam or wynns dip3 in that it dissolves the buildup.
It's theory is that it it bonds with the carbon so it should (if it works as I understand it) remove the carbon a layer at a time rather than in big chunks.

From what I've seen of it it's more gooey than solid so whilst not impossible i would be surprised if a chunk caused scoring - it just doesn't seem hard enough. However the crappy core plugs on the intake manifold far more likely to cause instant terminal failure. Given how fast carbon returns after cleaning it must be self limiting - as such every bodies engine is injecting carbon build up in some form without issue. I'd be incredibly surprised if nobody else had a chunk go in and just be combusted (you can remove the carbon by lighting an oxygen feed being pumped through the manifold - google redneck carbon removal on YouTube ;)) so I would have expected engines to be failing more often.
