Re: GoPro 3 VS RS4
Yep read about the iphone app seems very well equipped for a little camera.
Can you use it for stills too???
Going to California for holz so was thinking of taking one
Pretty disappointed with my canon when it comes to video
The image is great but manual focus does my nut in so may invest in the go pro.
Any other decent software out there that's easy to use ?? £1500 is a lot of dosh
Have used Tempeg in the past which is quite good, easy to use but its fairly basic.

HI Toyneg - No I don't use the GoPro one as it's a bit flimsy. I use one of these http://delkin.com/i-5829839-fat-gecko-mini-mount.html It's a bit more substantial. I also use some GoPro camera tethers for safety. It's not so much the camera I'm worried about but more the risk of it coming off and hitting someone or their car. When I mount the Canon DSLR I use one of these http://www.haguecamerasupports.com/prod ... ount.shtml
Hi Roy - I wouldn't say the GoPro would be very good as a point and shoot. The lag on the iPhone is about 5 seconds so it's only really good for mounting somewhere and leaving. But yes it does do stills. You'd do better to buy just a HD handy cam. The pictures from even the cheapest ones are pretty good nowadays.
In regards to editing software I started using Avid back in 98 and haven't touched anything else since. It's one of those bits of software you never learn completely even after 15 years. Like I said before Avid is pretty much the Broadcast standard so I don't need to look elsewhere. I know Final Cut Pro is excellent along with Adobe Premiere. These two are the next step down after Avid. Below that I'm not really sure TBH, apologies.
Hope that helps you guys

Just picked up a Hero 3 BE and suction mount... going to give it a test today and see what I can come up with. Where should I look for complete amateur software?

Hi guys,
Sorry for the delayed response. My RS4 has gone now so not checking this site as much these days.
Martay - I'm afraid I'm no help as I use Avid for all my editing so don't really have any idea about any others. If you've got a mac iMovie is good for basic stuff I think.
Outlaw - Ha ha, true, it's a cracking song!
Floydstar - Of course you can mate.

Re: GoPro 3 VS RS4
What mic did you use? I just get a lot of crackling using the built in mic and skeleton back cover. Might get myself a "frame" for interior shots and the full skeleton case for external stuff.
