dealers with early build slots or unregistered cars

Post by Graeme4130 » Fri May 17, 2013 6:09 pm

Hi all
Does anyone know if any dealers with early build slots for cars or any unregistered cars ?
I've iffed and ummed for ages about putting my order in and Ive just not got around to placing it. The problem is, if I don't go in now and buy one soon, I'll end up changing my mind a million times, so (like in the manner of a spoilt child) I want one now :)

This is one is available in Bath Audi and as well as in almost my ideal spec is in a colour I hadn't considered before and I think it might look quite nice with black wheels http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... go/1350408

With RS6 and SQ5 coming along if you want to order you'd better do so soon.

There are some physical cars out there.

Excuse my naivety, but what difference will that make ?

It's nice, but I'm not sold on the colour now I've had some time to think about it, which is why the original post was more to see if others were available
Anyway, I've been into Swindon Audi today and within their network, they've an ibis white car which although has the 20" vspokes and exhaust of the sports pack, doesn't have the dynamic suspension, so might be the best if both worlds (the other spec items are pretty much as I'd want too)
I'll get to see it next week, so might push the button then

There's one ad on autotrader claiming no more UK delivery slots, I'm not sure that is actually the case yet, but we can't be far off.

If you find a car you like, I think you have to go for it. Good luck with the viewing.

My dealer had told me there was still slots and. Coud custom order (albeit a 6 month wait), but you never know what to believe from them, although they've nothing to gain doing it that way around
Anyway, white car seems to possibly be the one and we'll see next week

My dealer, this month, told me 6 months before a new build B8 will be delivered, and because of the 6 month wait, they could not confirm the trade in price!.
By that time, details of the new M3 will be pretty much confirmed, and TBH I was not completely blown away by the test drive.

This is the first time I here there is a six month wait to order one.. Is there really a waislist for the rs4? Usually if there are slots you only need to confirm spec about 2 months before delivery. I think the m3 is at least a year away and different spec all together (two door, rear wheel drive)

I agree it did seem a little odd. Maybe they were talking about special orders as I was considering nogaro blue.

You're right about M3. rear wheel drive coupe is chalk and cheese with estate 4wd. Sure, performance is comparable, but that's about it
Pretty much set on white car available in a couple of weeks. Has sport exhaust and 20"v spokes, but no dynamic suspension, which I think could be a bonus (spoke with customer who has non dynamic sus, and he said very similar to comfort setting on dyn car)
Other spec is as I'd have chosen

It is not a special order, I am not looking for anything out of the ordinary. Salesman said Audi do not allow them to order for stock, not sure I believe that though.

For me, M3 is an alternative, direct competitor even, M3 will be 4 door (the 2 door will be M4) and yes, rear wheel drive, I don't need an estate and 4 wheel drive is only useful for a few days a year (though I have noticed BMWs seem to fair particularly badly when it snows, (maybe a combination of rear wheel drive and fat tyres) though snow is seems to be more common is Southern England than it used to be.

Maybe I should try another dealer?
