Yup, there was plenty of tooing n froing with those, I even had them in my mitts for a bit.
Well made but don't think they added any gains in the end.
(Didn't SS spend an age trying to perfect the design too ?) Maybe Audi just got the header right first time !

I wish I could but they're right opposite and either side. Even if it were a complete street full of Bam_bam's, I still couldn't ignore them.

Yes capristo is smaller than stock diameter, Tim they spent a long time developing the mani's on an Italian car. They then asked Doug to trial some on a supercharged car and I offered. The gains were ehm 'minimal' to say the least

Makes you wonder if there are any gains to be had from these RS5 extractors/headers?

yer i think there will be. the standard rs4 headers are a work of art compared to the standard rs5 headers.
also the rs5 has its pre cats built into the end off the headers so no that easy to de-cat.

the B7 RS4 headers were very good in design 3Y long tube vs SS 4-1 long tube, less heat generated from stock then SS , so really only the torque shifted a little with minimal gains

Image

the RS5 stock headers are quite squashed 4-1 shorties with cat as one, so plenty of heat from cat located right below intake, there is also not helping very sharp bend straight after cat

Image

the KLine headers offer much better flow design, the diameter of primaries is larger then stock by 4mm and they are also a little longer, so in theory it should add some torque down low and HPs on higher revs,
if you want cats - they have to go down low similar to B& RS4

Image

heat wise - they've been ceramic coated in&out to bring the temps lower
installation requires engine drop (not an easy job)
will be installing them shortly with pre/post dyno, stay tuned ...
