JR, real shame you couldn't join us for the fun mate. I hope your feeling a lot better 'cos you looked like <beep> when I saw you on Saturday morning.

Great weekend, even better group of people.

Wasn't me either, but very funny.

Let's get an idea of what days are on offer, and then start getting some plans together.

Remember pics to gallery@rs246.com please.

13 hours to get home with a force 9 gale , massive amounts on puke on the cat, but that didnt phase me, a little thing inside my throat called tonsils, fecked me over big time temp 104, shivers and shakes, absolutely gutted that i got to Spa and had to drive back, on hindsight it did the right thing, coz i would have got worse and messed your weekend up(yeah sure :bash: ) Glad it went well without me though and cant wait to hear about all the little stories.
There will be more trips just as long as people want to come, we always get a good result from all attendees.
Cheers

Real shame you had to go back home John, but if you felt that bad then you had no option.

You were missed (in a blokey sorta way  ).

The weekend started off for me leaving for Dover on Friday morning and meeting up with the rest of the crowd in the 1st class lounge with the weather forecast for the channel as 'rough'.......
I think we all agreed that 'it was rough'....

No major problems on the way down to Spa, the weather was spot on and we made good time despite very heavy traffic on the ring road around Brussels - oh and there was that quad bike on the motorway and the tussel with the bikes (no problemo).

We found the Hotel and proceded to get to work on the 6.6% - 10% belgium beers :drink:

Up very early (and in darkness) to get to the track and register and to listion to the long foreign version of track etiquette and then the very abridged english version......

The parking was divided into the 3 groups.

Onto the track and jesus bloody christ................................ WHHHAHHHHHAYYYYYYYY.....................................

For me a couple of memorable cars, that 182 Clio that passed nearly everybody, Tims CSL, the VX220 that was all over the shop, the feckwit Toyota Corolla who should never have been on the track in the first place, passing the black Subaru and then seeing it peel off into the barrier !

Chatting with Tim whilst in the queue to get out on the track and seeing the red RS2000 and Tim saying, ''with that heap of <beep> out there it's the one to stay away from'' - next time we saw it it had a full frontal crush and was a total wreck.
Then there was the poor Elise with the unique 4 way steering.
And we can't forget the Scooby chucking out the oil and making a corner very very slippery indeedy.
My most unforgetfull moment was going off into the graveltrap and remembering NOT to steer out at high speed. One life lost there :bash:

Most memorable is coming out of the hairpain and shooting down Eau Rouge, up the hill and going over the blind crest - superb.

The ring was so difficult, Tim was kind enough to take me out in the CSL and showed me how much that car sticks to the track, sorry 'road'. Soooo many twists, bumps, ssoooooooooooooo many blind crests.
A great Bratwurst lunch watching motorcycle side cars and M5 Taxis mixing it with the rest.

An evening spent in the pub with a few locals and leaving (me & JohnW) at a sensible time.

Charlie with his optional reverse gear in the Lotus
Stories of that dodgy TV channel - Gordon did you really watch it the non-female activities!!!

Stories about fast Eddie !!!!!!!!!!!

A great quik trip back to Calais with some of us parting along the way to get back early.

And that awful return journey on the SeaCat - I was this far away from throwing up.

Lastly a big hug to Kelly. Phil's much much 'better half' for putting up with us (and him) for the weekend and for tolerating (as such) Tims favourite word.

Special thanks to Gav for offering me a switch on cars - next time buddy.

Certainly a special weekend for me, no doubt down to the superb people attending a most thrilling weekend.

Thanks boys and Kelly.

I'll post my pics when I can.
Ruth England, I had forgotten her name. What was the name of the other one though... :smile_smoking:

Phil, that pic is superb
Btw, I'll see if I can find the details about the spannish circuits I mentioned.

JR if it was only your tonsils we could have had them out for you no problem. Bit of whisky to dull the pain,
big pair of sidecutters, and Kelly to look after you :biggrin2: :jump:
Pleased you got home okay and getting better.

I'm up for more trips if they don't clash with my other bookings, and I have spare folding at the time.
When do you lot start booking for LeMans ?
I know the porsche guys are already taking deposits so thought I'd ask.

Cheers,
John.

Pete, excellent writeup.

Now I might be speaking out of turn here (nothing new there then ! ) but how about having a section for meet writeups, and maybe a link from them to the appropriate gallery ?

I reckon those that went will be laughing for ages as they remember diffierent snippets from the weekend.
I have the pics of Tim's catwalk coat to post up yet. You lot wait till you see those :bigblink:

Can't wait to hear from Gordon & Dave about their extended trip to the toy-shop, as well as what John got up to.
That reminds me - John were you on a different trip or something mate ?
We saw you on the thursday night, and fleetingly throughout the rest of the weekend, but midnight arrival Friday night, no stopover saturday or sunday night either ?
Come on man - get with the program !!! :drink: :drink: :drink: :bash: :biggrin2:

Hmmm i was a little pissed off too for the time i was there, John had his own agenda by the looks of things, (which is fine) but perhaps its would of been more curtious if he had mentioned what his intentions were.
I actually booked Dinner in Spa for 3 people having been told that you were going to be an hour or so behind,
also that 3 nights were booked at that hotel in Spa by yourself, and lastly 2 nights booked at the hotel in Adenau which were not used.
Luckly we were not charged for this, but John please next time please just keep us informed.
BTW Thanks for the Co-Codamol it go me home.
Cheers

To add to Tim's discomfort, I really must point you all to this picture taken at Le Mans this year...
