True, I did look into this last month but decided its going to be tuned as the first mod. Still it does make me think wtf was audi thinking putting something so weedy into a performance car. Good job the rest of it makes up for it.

@nicky Indeed, chunky steering wheels are way better. I loved my S5. Bought it just after launch, the traction on it was superb - just stuck to the road like glue. Still miss it now, and bloody hell did it attract attention!! Funny, all the ladies looked at the S5, all the blokes the M3

My new S5 gets a lot more attention than my S4 did. Whats's your thoughts on the S4 against the S5? I worte a small piece here summarisng my thoughts:

Nice writeup that nick.

Its hard for me to compare the two since there was no V6 or Stronic when I got mine (only tip) so I had a manual V8. Felt every bit as quick as my S4, and as I mentioned had silly amounts of grip. I had a basic spec, albeit with DVD nav and B&O - Phantom Black with black interior

No doubting the newer V6T with S tronic would be quicker still.

In hindsight I should never have got rid of it, and regretted the day it went. Live and learn.

The misses thinks the S5 was better than the S4. I think fast estate cars are a bloke thing

We think the S5 is slightly better than the S4 however, you're absolutely right there's something about a fast Audi Avant being a bloke thing.

They're just cool.

How do you find the grip compared to the S4? Does the sports diff make it hugely better than the S5 in terms of cornering?

Had more grip than the S4. On my daily drive I could take corners at a speed I cant in the S4, well not so much cant as "don't want to risk it". I can feel the backend of the S4 move out if you push it really hard, S5 just felt really planted.

I will sing the praises of the S5 all day, such an underrated car and to me deserves much more credit. Fantastic car.

If I didn't need an estate I would have another in a heartbeat. Now a MRC V6 S5 in sepang, yum
