They are lighter and have launch control. I believe they are about 0.2s quicker to 60, not a huge difference but noticeable in a drag.

Pre facelift cars have launch control though, it just wasn't available on the 2009 early 2010 cars. Facelift cars are the same speed as manuals to 62 aswell (which are also lighter than stronic). It's nitpicking really, but I doubt you would notice any difference whatsoever, especially since we don't have a facelift MRC map to compare to.

Going off Parkers and nothing else it states 5.2 0-60 for pre FL and 4.9 0-60 for FL. That's for Avants.

Probably a gearing change, quicker to 60, slightly slower after.

Only having playful banter mate I love the facelift and would switch to one just for the steering wheel alone

I had an S5 cab without the flat bottom steering wheel for a month in between my black edition S4 and black edition S5. The most satisfying thing about going back to a black edition was the steering wheel. Nice and chunky and just made me smile.

When Maidstone Audi asked me what spec I want on an S5, all I said was flat bottom steering wheel. The rest is a bonus.

True, I did look into this last month but decided its going to be tuned as the first mod. Still it does make me think wtf was audi thinking putting something so weedy into a performance car. Good job the rest of it makes up for it.

@nicky Indeed, chunky steering wheels are way better. I loved my S5. Bought it just after launch, the traction on it was superb - just stuck to the road like glue. Still miss it now, and bloody hell did it attract attention!! Funny, all the ladies looked at the S5, all the blokes the M3
