Thanks for everybodys input.
Have been trying to minimise the mods and expenditure (about to embark on a £70K house extension). Suppose I could have a £75K house extension
Mixed thoughts on greenstuff myself. The only pair of disks I've every managed to warp were on my AMD chipped A4 1.8T Sport after I had switched to greenstuff from standard. The disks were fairly well worn, but AMD were happy to change the pads so obviously not too bad. Generally I'm fairly light on the brakes, but must have hot spotted them. Nasty
After having a couple of other A4s (1.8T and 2.8Q) surprised in the lack of feel and initial bite of my S4's brakes. Couple of incidents slowing from moderate speeds where I have been quite surprised by the initial lack of braking. Guess on the generally over-servoed Audis you don't expect to have to lean on the pedal.
No problems with the brakes in my MK1 Golf GTI days. You knew you had to lean on those brakes (and I have plenty of weight to lean on with!).
Embarrassed to say that if German and Swedish did S4 disks I would probably try them as a cheaper than OEM option, but they don't!
Have to say the temptation to spend some real money is high though with all you wealthy blokes on here.

Low cost brake upgrade.

No Problem.....
Re: Low cost brake upgrade.
I'm in the same boat as many needing front disks and pads. Has anyone engineered porsche 993 calpiers and disks for the S4 yet. I saw somthing like this and it maybe an option. Porscheshop sell the latter disks relatievly cheaply so running costs once done would be much better??
I might look into this and keep you posted.

I'm with the cheap lads on this one for the time being. Nevr really done a proper track day.
The Audi price to change is outrageous. £40 a disk for fronts from Paul at VAG parts. But £80 for standard pads. Hhmm not so good. I thought Padgid fast road pads for £50 from Star Performance. All in £130. (Fit them myself). However, if they don't work well we shall see....

Golich,
Why not come to Castle Coombe on Wednesday 2nd April then (apart from the distance that is) ? See the post in trackdays and meets.
I'll be interested in how your car goes with Pagid pads, keep us posted.
