Hi guys,
Read it on the news this morning. See the attached article. An RS6 was used as getaway car and somebody filmed the event from a mobile phone from right across the road.
Sad but true. These cars have a solid reputation as being fast and are attracting attention for the wrong reasons especially if owning one means posing a higher risk for insurances and therefore increasing premiums is inevitable.
AUDI RS6 USED AS GETAWAY CAR FOR A HOLD UP IN SYDNEY
Re: AUDI RS6 USED AS GETAWAY CAR FOR A HOLD UP IN SYDNEY
It's a rare car in Oz, I think only 7 were imported by Audi Australia. They probably needed a bank heist just to keep the thing in fuel and servicing.

Epic fail though.
R18 GTX Estate > Saphire 2.0i Ghia > R19 16v > Vectra V6 SRi > M3 > RS6 Avant

I don't know from where you get your statistics Bam, But IMO who's that idiot who's going to rob a truck with a car as rare as that? I mean I might agree few people in Oz might realise what an RS6 is but the four rings of Audi are much more widespread and recognised .... I am sure a holden v8 might have been more subtle considering the number there are on the roads ie the car would have blended in alot more thus catching the eye less. Again - allow me to stress - IMO

I think an Oz C5 RS6 and C6 RS6 owner (yes, he owns both, yes, he works in the oil industry) on this forum quoted those figures (IIRC there were only 3 avants but I could be wrong). I completely agree regarding the use of such a rare car, however, the police also drive Holden V8s and FPVs so at the very best, you'll have parity. Interested in how much the C6 will pull away from a Holden V8, fast forward to 7:30 http://youtu.be/BFsqdVsu0GY - It ain't pretty. Let's not mention the high-speed stability (or lack of) in the Holden.Daytona3 wrote:I don't know from where you get your statistics Bam, But IMO who's that idiot who's going to rob a truck with a car as rare as that? The user is "perthwaRS6". I wonder if he's planning on the C7 version too, that'd be a special feeling every time you opened the garage, eh?
