New wheels - help me choose

Post by Ceveman73 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 12:17 am

Have decided to treat the Plus to some new wheels, and after running c6 20s for ages, I'm gonna try a more concave design. I'm thinking that to complement the slab-like shape of the 6, a simpler and more chunky design works best, but I'm not sure. I'm still not a fan of silver wheels, so will be running dark grey or black on my car. Which of the following do people like:

No 1 look great because of the many spokes but I would have to compare them to no5 in the flesh before deciding - I like a wheel with a bit of a dish.
PREVIOUS: Black Audi B6 S4 Avant. Custom exhaust (sounded amazing). Otherwise standard and near perfect.
PRESENT: Muggy '53 RS6 loon. MTM Stage2. KW3s. 100 cells. Milltek.

Are getting 20s? Do you know the weight? As a 3-piece they're probably a touch heavy.

Will look good in black...

I'll probably be going for 19x10 with a 275/30/19 tyre. I like the look of the 20s, but it annoys me that I can't run a wider tyre due to clearance issues on the front. All the wheels are one piece monobloc.

I like the last ones -particularly as your tyres will be ever so slightly stretched on the 10" rims I think the finer edge profile will suit them better

But hey you always need someone to confuse things - and from the other side of the world you could argue my view is ares up anyway.

Show us the pics when they are on

I don't think any of them will look right on the RS6.

Agreed.
Spokes far too thin for the chunky lines of the 6.
And will look tiny in 19".
Plus that concave look will not be possible due to the medium offset and caliper clearance.

You need low offsets a la S5 to get dish

It's very much personal choice with wheels and I know it sounds very boring but I think the OEM wheels in anthracite just work. I know when I had my EVo X I was looking at some Rays wheels , expensive but very nice. Don't like any of those but then it's not my car
