New Rs4 4.2

Post by johneroberts » Fri Sep 17, 2004 8:15 pm

Apparently in testing at the nordschlife under 8 mins lap time 0-200kph 15 sec, and an induction system that is awesome inlet for each cylinder, bit like the M3CSL.

Cool

These times for road cars are starting to reduce apparently the new 997 2S did it in 7.50 which is about the same as the 996TT and the M3 CSL

Any reduction in weight has to be good news although there will be a cost implication built into the cars.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new engine not being as powerfull as Audi had hoped and the fact that the competion, M5 for example is much more powerfull.

Could well be we might land up with an RS4 lightweight model like the M3 CLS......and that wont be cheap!

I think that the new M5 will be a tough nut to crack!

If the 0-200kph figure is correct thats almost 3 seconds faster than the RS6.

ps These figures are identical to those being touted for the new M5.

The old S4 was 20000€ cheaper than the RS4 and the old S6 20000€ cheaper than the RS6.
If we take it over to the new modell, the RS4 will be 73.000€.
Quiet expensive if you see that BMW builds the M5 with a V10 and 500bhp! And that is only 85000€!
Lets see what we get!

Lucky you germany guys...Here in portugal (we pay a lot in tax over the cars, specially in terms of c.c.) a simple S4 is 88 000€ and the actual RS6 about 128 800€. The Rs4 were in 2001/2002! about 80 000€.

Here in Portugal, more L (c.c.) , the more the car pay in taxes.... :(

That's nothing! Here in Oz the RS6 is about $240,000 which is like about 150,000 Euro, RS4 about 115,000 Euro and still sell for 55-70,000 Euro!

that cauz your govt wants to protect the local car industry. I see though that this is about to reduce, which'll mean cheaper RS's for AU.

Kiwi, how much is an RS4 in NZ (if there's any for sale), and is it worth the effort to import into AUS?

They are NZ$90>$115.

Right now there is 3x that i know of for sale. 2x by a Dealer, both Silver at $110(45km) and $115 (35km) asking, and 1x private sale, Black 22km for $110 ono.

You'll need to look at any duty on import to AU though.
