Another balanced review then - using a Focus C-Max....
Presumably they didn't reset the ECU to allow a fully advanced ignition timing between runs, therefore for the limited time the fuel is in the car, you are unlikely to see much in the way of ECU adaptation.
I guess what they don't say is that optimax allows petrol heads to run seriously advanced ignition timing outwith what is usualy permisable with standard unleaded, and therefore with custom mapping (and APRs optimax codes) you do yield meaningful power upgrades.. For example my S4 ran 320bhp and 360lbft on the 95ron map and 337bhp and 401lbft on optimax (a combination on fuel and mapping) and my S3 will run 270bhp and 300lbft on 95 ron and 275bhp and 330lbft on the optimax mapped program...
I hope the negatiev publicity doesn't mean it gets withdrawn from the UK market - we'll all have to drive slower
