I don't tend to keep my cars long although every time I get a new one I always say this one I'm gonna keep

I've got a new B8 RS4 Avant coming hopefully in March and although I've enjoyed this car I have to agree with comments made by DK that is a good car rather an excellent car. I've had a few niggles with it, nothing major and most have been commented on here already. List is in order of concern (for me anyway)

1. Xenon headlights on dipped beam are totally rubbish. By far the worst I've ever had on any Audi (I've had 6 different Audi's all with xenon's).
2. Tyres, Conti's are also rubbish but I've only noticed this more during the winter months as they seemed ok when I first got it last April.
3. Fuel economy. I understand you don't buy one of these for the fuel economy but one of the reason I changed from my RS5 was to potentially have as good performance (or better in some people's eyes) but a better overall fuel economy. For the first 6 months of ownership this was true as I was getting an average of 30mpg with mixed driving. However over the last 3 months this for some reason has dropped to around 26mpg and I'm not driving it any differently. I could take it to the stealers to have it checked but as is going I can't be bothered.
4. Without wanting to start a war around traction I have also found the 4wd system not as good as previous models. Come off a roundabout in wet, cold, greasy conditions and put your foot down and the traction control lights up like a Christmas tree. This may be down to the tyres but when I had my TTRS I never had this problem although that was running on Michelin's. I also got around 13000 out of the front set of Michelin's on the TTRS and I got 8100 out of the fronts on the RS3.

I'm not trying to put you off, far from it, it's still a fantastic hot hatch and off a roundabout there is not a lot that's going to keep up with it. Press the sport button, put the gearbox in S and its fantastic fun, but for me it's missing the sparkle that some of my previous RS models had and also also miss some of the tech I had as well. This is only my opinion and I'm sure there is plenty of guys on here who love their cars and will tell you so. For the money I don't think it can be beat and it's 90% there to becoming a brilliant car.

As far as I am thinking about the car change... The RS3 will not be as good as my RS4, I don't expect it to be, the RS5 was terrible when I test drive it....

The RS3 is for me a more practical slightly more fuel efficient RS car that is still a fast point to point car and fits a bill that I need in a car.

Looking at your car history you've missed out on the best RS car produced so far...
