My wheels are black with a flick of silver across them, I reckon that would look nice

I though your wheels looked the same as my OEM ones in anthracite.

I was thinking about changing the titanium bit to anthracite and the silver edge bit to titanium.
I just found an old thread with a grey RS4 with the same wheels and it doesn't look right (as opposed to he other grey saloon that has been slammedand does look right). The difference between that one and the others that do look right is that they nice ones have all been lowered and have 255 tyres. This grey one that looks wrong hasn't been lowered and has 265 tyres (like me).

PS the grey saloon that looks good was posted by Niils on page 2 of this thread.

The one that looks wrong is in this thread:

Is it because the bottom one has too high a profile tyre?

They look fantastic on your one Mike. Now not sure if I get a set of only 18's if they will look tiny on mine.
Current car: 2007 BMW 530d touring.

You should take your side-on pics from a lower position firstly. It's too high & it's hard to make out the gap.

It does look like the other cars have a greater dish though, noticeable at the fronts. To my eyes anyway.

Ah no, from the other pictures they looked more like mine. From that photo I can clearly see they are like a black chrome or black with a flick of silver as you called them.

This is mine in bright sunlight so might look a bit shinier than they actually are:

I'd say you'd need at least 19". Remember though that they 18s and 19s are not as concave.

The dish should be the same as they ae identical wheels.

I will try and get some better pictures in the daylight when it's not snowing. I took those photos with my phone late last night, I do normally take thm from a low angle as my proper camera has a pull out screen so I can take them low while still standing.

If you have, or plan to fit, ceramic brakes then you need at least 19".

Ok, so the snow has finally melted, allowing me to get some daylight photos at the weekend.

First a little reminder of the before (and a lovely shot of my exhaust):
