Bose on the blink

Post by ollys » Sat Jan 19, 2013 5:44 pm

So my lucks not been good lately. Seems as though the 6 is doing her best to get me to keep her! Stopped at petrol station on way home today listening to some tunes all good - went to pay having locked the car, got back in started her up and noticed instantly no sound at all from the front, only the rear door speakers. Had a fiddle around, and it does not matter what the source is, radio, iPod, cd, is the same. Use the fader function and set to full front and silence!!

Anyone experienced this or got thoughts about what could be the cause?

Car is into Audi on Tuesday for mot, one day before the warranty runs out so will get them to take a look. God bless the warranty!

Change the setting on the Bose amp between Driver focus and back again, and all should be good.

Not sure what it is, no error codes stored, but happens on all of them from time to time.
Solution is to alternate between the Bose settings or as you did, ignition on/off.

Is the car an avant? I had simular problem with my tdi a couple of years ago. In the end I lost all sound and MMI display. Water had leaked from the rear washer pipe as it passes through to the tailgate. It then ran down the d pillar to the amp and nav unit. Check to see if its damp around rhe amp area .
