Lady I work with has a husband who works at the local BMW dealer; they have just fitted all their demos with winter tyres. I'm in a 62 plate C3 Picasso diesel, going to leave early, this is my first winter ever without quattro in my entire driving life (still got the RS6, but it's at home and I'm at work). :(

dont know about you guys but other drivers are the ones that make driving scary in these conditions! especially coming to stop at roundabouts and junctions.

Can't believe it, just about to go home and a trader has come in to pick up a 530D part ex, snowed in in the compound. I'll see how I get on. Grr.

The BMW was absolutely fine and this is how thick it was. My C3 Picasso is much worse.

I did purposely spin the rear wheels up a bit though, child in me!

How's this for karma!

Got home, some local dick has parked him BMW outside my house so I can't park there, try to park on the drive, stops, gets out, car slides back, crunches bottom of the door and ronnies the hinge so the door won't shut and mullers some bottom trim. Have got it shut, just, but it's fucked. Booked in to Audi Monday and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be expensive.

Serves me right for mocking BMW drivers.

Bollox!

Took me a while to figure that one out. Brilliant!
AWESOME.

Spoke too soon about Beemers being okay in the snow. We all drove around this. Normal 20 minute journey home took 1h45m.

Just seen a clip on Channel 5 News of a guy in a black M3 absolutely flooring it on snow and going nowhere. Tool.

Somerset/Dorset weather report 18.01.2013

06:00 - woke to find approx 50-75mm of snow and minimal drifting.
06:50 - left 5 minutes later than usual taking the wife's RAV4 with Wintrac Extremes on it (no point in wrecking the RS4...? )
- easy commute to work but felt for the guys on pushbikes/motorbikes as this is obviously there only means of transport
- 2 wheels on snow/ice..... :bash:
- car park virtually empty

Easy 1/2 day at work - early finish (engineering industry)

14:00 - drove through Yeovil - no traffic - where is everyone
14:10 - Went to Next to find a "hooodie" for my 2-year-old grandson since the carpark was literally empty

Decision - I like this inclement weather - on the drive home, I virtually had the (clear) road all to myself - very, very little traffic about. :thumb:
