Call from my local dealer..

Post by FatBoy » Mon Sep 13, 2004 8:19 pm

I've just had a call from my local dealer asking me if I want to confirm my "order" for the new RS4 with a deposit.
Apparently, they have just come back from a preview at Audi of the new A6 Avant and a number of other new cars were confirmed, including the Pikes Peak (but with a different name) in 2006 and the Le Mans in 2007.
More importantly, the RS4. It will be based on the forthcoming facelift A4 with the A6 style nose and in spite of everything that has previously been stated here, he claims it will have a twin-turbo V8 (I wouldn't stake my life on that though) and "the biggest wheels you've ever seen on a road car". I don't know how big, but an interesting thought"

Cheers
Paul

They'll tell you anything to get some money out of you.... My place is reserved without a deposit.

It better be good, otherwise we'll end up buying something else. We've waited long enough for another landmark RS.

My dealer had a viewing in Munich Airport last weekend at the launch of the new A4.It was a saloon based on the "new shell" with the big mouth look, swathed in dry ice with mega wheels and arches as already stated elsewhere in this thread.

Public viewings at Geneva in March with the cars coming on line soon after.

Maybe the Hockenheim contingent will come back with more news

Here's hoping that my initial forecast of a Paris Motorshow preview later this month may just come true :)

IMHO they have done most of the mule and running gear testing alongside the new A4 work which has meant that the RS has been readied without the usual spy shots etc. Therefore it makes sense that the dealers are now just starting to hear and see more about it.

I still don't believe that we will see it in bi-turbo form since they already have a ready and cheap supply of NA 4.2 which they can spice up. What will be interesting is the weight, brakes, standard equipement and price!

When is the Paris Motorshow, before march?
If not, everything seems fine to me. Carl told us: Geneva 2005 (March)!

Like PhilT I have my name on an RS4 with no deposit. And they shouldn't need one until I've specced the car as I've owned two RS's previous. That should really be the case for any buyers with an Audi History. It clearly depends on the dealership. Personally £1k is a lot of money to have away in someone elses acct.

My source viewed it last weekend and confirms the 420bhp, N/A v8 New A4 platform, 0-60 4.7, says it looks as hardcore as the last one did over the standard A4. saloon first, avant shortly after. confirmed I'm at the top of his list no deposit required till speccing. In fact I've just bought an A8 and he said don't bother with the deposit just pay for it all on one bankers draft, if a dealer had my money for over year I'd ask him to knock the interest off the price as well.
