Post by Kiteral » Sat Nov 10, 2012 6:56 pm

Over on the Audizine, they are chatting about a new Milltek valved exhaust for the S4 does anyone know anything about this ?

Bit of news on milltek site but no details http://www.millteksport.com/news.read.cfm?articleid=210

Teaser site http://valvesonic.com/

Could be very nice if it came together :blackrs4:

Out early Jan hopefully.

Somebody described it on audizine as stock when in normal mode but non-res sound when in sport mode (flaps open ).

Could be a perfect exhaust for anyone like me who has to go to work a silly o'clock occasionally.

saw one at Autosport Intl yesterday on the Milltek stand. Not ready for the S4 yet, but chap says they will be soon. Neat pair of demo silencers in a glass case for use with explanations. The valves look just like the usual vacuum operated jobs, except these are ECU controlled via a custom box. Hooks into cars wiring and monitors revs etc and opens at a predetermined RPM. Flow is improved when both valves are open, together with more noise. Nothing rocket science about it and not enough to sway me from the APR RSC that I hope to have fitted this week.

Also comes with an override switch for impressing the kids when appropriate. Nicely engineered too by the looks of things - usual Milltek fayre.

I took some pics which I will post when I get them onto a PC.

I got it from Tuningwerkes in the end, but I do accept that it might have been cheaper from the US. Ironically and despite being told that APR UK had one in stock, it seems the pipe will still have to come from the factory anyway, but with GBP on its sticker price, not USD. Hmmmm.

When it is fitted I will give a full report. I look forward to a nice Dino-esque metallic rasp, not a boomy trackday-unfriendly racket....

Pics of that valved Milltek here now too.

When it arrives unfortunately - but perhaps next week. Can't wait though! Then I might pop up to see the MRC chaps and see how the car reads on the rollers.

I look forward to your feedback. I want to add some depth to my zorst note. I want more of a V8 type noise on start up and an increased throttle blip when flying through the gears. Let me know if yours would suit my requirements.

I was in Millteks S5 with Valvesonic - it is a nice setup and will keep the passengers happy - it either is auto opening or you can overide and open all the time on a button.

When open is it more raspy, deeper, louder etc etc? Also what about the throttle blip?

it is close to the difference bettween a milltek and their race exhuast - you are basically opening the straight through bypeass of the back box, with the valve
