BMW have done AWD for years. They are available in Germany.

Read about this earlier on autocar. I think it looks rubbish but the performance sounds very impressive. Quicker than an RS6 to 60. Still I'd rather take the RS6 over this, just looks beefier. I'd say the new RS6 is the most aggressive looking car of all the Audis right now.

The xdrive beemers have been around for years.

A few of my army mates bought them when posted to Germany as they get them tax free. Thats when I first heard about them.

I have never looked to see if Mercedes have been doing the same thing though.

Yes thats the new 3series.Merc has the new amg 45 available and just announced the e63 as awd.

Id take an RS6 over it as well ,considering my last 3 cars before my S4 were mercs and in previous posts i was leaning towards going back to merc especially if they bought out a C63 with AWD i think im starting to lean the other way and stick with audi when i change cars later on this year.Just read this on merc amg facebook page looks like they're rolling out awd models across the range. Along with the new E 63 AMG, the latest model upgrade also benefits the CLS 63 AMG in its Coupé and Shooting Brake variants. The S-Model variant of the CLS 63 AMG not only boasts the performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive but also comes with the AMG 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine generating a maximum output of 430 kW (585 hp) and up to 800 Nm of torque.
