Tyre pressure warning system

Post by 535dboy » Sun Jan 06, 2013 11:00 am

I've had two false warnings come up now saying I have a flat and yet each time I've checked they pressures have been up if anything (because they are warm)

Is this a known Audi problem with this system

I note it is more like the BMW one in that it is calculate on rolling radius or something as opposed to the Porsche ones that actually have sensors in the valves

Posted in B8 section although sure same system applies to all Audi cars where it is fitted
Currently :
Porsche 992S
Porsche Cayenne GTS
Porsche GT4 RS
Lotus Exige V6 ( tuned to c430bhp)
Seat Ibiza excellence Lux!

Ex
2017 AMG E class wagon
2012 Audi RS4 (B8)
2012 Porsche Boxster S (981)

Is it like the C6 version which gives you psi and temps on the screen?

Depending on the Audi it will have either the sensor system or the rolling radius system.

B7 A4 - sensor system

8P A3, 8V A3, B8 A4 - rolling radius system

Don't know what system(s) the A1, A6 and A8s have :(

Irrelevant. Mine had small software niggles for the first few months. It's just teething problems hopefully. I had one of the first FL cars and the new lights had issues immediately as did the upgraded steering both of which were software related.

One of mine was a spurious/erroneous warning (something we try to mitigate where possible in the aerospace industry a lot) and usually some coding update from Audi will resolve it. Yours just sounds like a spurious fault.

I shouldn't worry about it. At least the DRC hasn't gone!
