Steamed Up Lights

Post by hammy969 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 6:04 pm

Good Afternoon All

I have attached a few pictures of my lights. I am looking to hear if any of you have had any similar issues with your lights and what you did about it.

Yes, it's happened on mine, especially when I've cleaned it on a cold day (warm water, cold temps etc). Usually goes by itself especially if the lights are on to get some heat in the lenses. It's happened on other cars to but I don't worry to much about it especially this time of year. Now in the middle of June that would be different....

Steamed Up Lights

+1. (Off side front cluster only)

Only when I wash it so far and dries out pretty quickly.

If it happens in warmer weather / normal driving conditions I will talk to the stealer about it and push for a replacement.

I have had this before on a BMW and got it replaced under warranty.

Ecav emailed me about this last night on his RS4

Mine does it but if you read the manual it states it can be normal in some countries so don't worry

They have breather holes in them

To be fair it was all coincidence.

He emailed asking me

I was looking in my manual to check something about the running in bit and stumbled over the bit about the lights so took photo and emailed him

To be honest my lotus does it for a pass time but then again it is made in England.......

Hope its not like the old RS6 C6 Condensation problem .. which eventually killed your DRL, requiring most of us to get headlights replaced under a recall

I had a lot of condensation in my passenger side headlamp - they replaced it under warranty as whilst a small amount of condensation is within Audi's "acceptable" limits (apparently), this was half way up the unit and never went away !

Camberley Audi changed it whilst doing the airvent / brake recall thing and its been fine ever since..
